School's everyday life in TCU & Snowball

Hi everybody,

I haven't written something on here for a long time because I was so busy with school. So
much has happened in the past couples of weeks: There was Snowball and sleepovers and just the Everyday Life here is somehow much busier (in a positive way) than in Berlin. I mean on the one hand I feel more relaxed here, but on the other and I never get bored, or I never have really nothing to do.
Well, anyway Sno-ball (I prefer spellin it Snowball though!) was on Saturday night of 02/08/14 and we just had so much fun: Snowball is kind of a dance for the whole school where we dress a bit fancier than to a regular party but still it's not like Prom. Anyway, for me -as an European- some girls still had very fancy dresses but I mean everyone looked beautiful :)
My friends and me, we met at our one's friend house to put on make-up and nail polis and what not. It was just so so so fun!
Then I went to the Mall of America: I'll tell you IT IS HUGE!!! It definitely makes sense that this mall is the biggest mall of the US! ;) They have so many stores and some of them repeat but yeah we were so busy shopping and looking through the four levels and especially FINDING our way that I didn't take any pictures inside. But I guess it won't be my last trip to the MOA, so I'll let you guys know when I got some pictures of it for you :)
Otherwise, my life in Montgomery kind of assimilated: I go to school everyday at 7:30, 'cause it starts at 7:45 and I don't wanna be late :D Then I got World Cultures&Geography, Advanced Biology, Maths (Calculus), Pottery (that's where we do things out of clay, vases, bowls, mugs and cups, containers or animals), then I have Study Hall where I can do my homework or sth like that, afterwards Pre-College English and my last hour is CIS American History. I just loooove my schedule and though I have three Pre- or College-classes I feel comfortable with it and I don't regret any of them (ok, that we read Shakespeare in English right now is not my biggest favor, BUT I do understand it...generally! :P)
Yeah, so that's kind of up-to-date. I wll have some tests soon, so maybe next time I'll post sth is gonna be not in the near future but i will definitely try to make up all the things I didn't share with you gus!

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the pictures ;)
Kisses,

Gracia (:

Arrived in Montgomery

Hey everyone,

so four days ago I've arrived in Minnesota yet. Now finally, I have the time to keep you up-to-date.
So Wednesday morning was the time to say goodbye to Germany, my friends and family. It was so hard to go through that security check, knowing you will see your home and everybody at least in 5 months. Me and mom had to cry so much, but somehow I could exempt from her hug.
So after a short stop at Frankfurt Airport and a nine-hour-flight to Washington, I had to get through the customs quickly to get my connecting flight to Phoenix, AZ.
But as expected there was not sufficient time to catch the flight. It was just a mess. Fortunately, I found someone who had the same problem as me and therefore I had the chance -after several obstacles- to stay the night at the airport at supervised staff till the next morning to get my "new" flights (yep, I had to get to Cleveland, OH first and then I continued to Phoenix!).
Finally finally, Thursday noon I was in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona, picked-up by OCEAN's (my exchange program organization) director Laura. Meeting the other six exchange students was so exciting and fun. We all just clicked and had a good time. We are also from all over the world: Columbia, Italy, China and Germany. I have to admit Arizona in winter would have been probably the nicest place to stay, but somehow I was looking forward to Minnesota because of the snow and my host family. So Thursday-Saturday morning I was in Phoenix.
On Saturday, me and two other Italian girls flew to Minneapolis, nervous, excited and curious at the same time. When we all left the plane to get the luggage, we just talked about how our host families perhaps going to be, how they will welcome us and the high school the three of us are going to attend on Tuesday, 21st. After a short time we all found our host families. We took a cute picture with almost everybody standing together.
After we said goodbye to each other, my host mom, her one son and his wife took me to FARMINGTON Steakhouse. There you get like the best rib eye steak on this planet, and their baked potato was AWESOME. The steak was so big, I needed three or four meals to get all of them eaten! :P
After that we visited my host mum's nephew and then headed back home to MONTGOMERY :)
I got so tired, I almost fell into my bed.
Yep, to sum up my last three days, I strolled around through Montgomery, New Prague and Mankato (two little towns close toMontgomery), went a bit shopping (got some winter boots for the snow and cold here in Minnesota), met some new people and just havin' a good time. Unfortunately, my school firstly starts next Tuesday and I can't wait, so I am so nervous and curious about it, but Friday I'm gonna plan my schedule with the school's counselor, so yeah: looking forward to that!

See you soon, greetings form Montgomery!
New stuff coming soon!!!

Two days left....

Hi world,
first of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR to everybody.
so there are just a few days left until my departure to the US: I can't believe it is so close and very soon I'm going to live in a whole new and adventurous environment I will get to know :)
This weekend I organised a little party with a friend which was more like a farewell party for me and a birthday party for my friend. I got sooo cute goodbye presents and souvenirs, so I wouldn't forget them. it was just awesome and sweet at the same time :)
Awww I can't wait to leave Germany for 6 months but otherwise now I feel so homesick and i will miss my family and friends so so so much!!!

So Wednesday is departure time and I will probably just have time to post sth. when I will be arriving at my host family's house.

Hope to see ya all soon ♥
